Η Google εξέδωσε ανακοίνωση απαντώντας σε δημοσιεύματα ότι η Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα (ΑΠΔΠΧ) της χώρας μας απαγόρευσε τις φωτογραφίσεις για το Google Street View στην Ελλάδα. Σύμφωνα με τη Google, “Το Street View δεν έχει απαγορευτεί στην Ελλάδα. Δεχτήκαμε αίτημα για περαιτέρω διευκρινήσεις από την ΑΠΠΔ και βρισκόμαστε σε συζητήσεις για το αν θα μπορέσουμε να συνεχίσουμε εν το μεταξύ τη φωτογράφιση”.

Street View has not been banned in Greece. We have received a request for further information from the Greek DPA and we are happy to continue discussing these issues with them and provide information they request. We will discuss with them whether it is appropriate for us to continue driving in the meantime. Street View is a popular feature of Google Maps and is already available for more than 100 metropolitan areas around the world. Google takes privacy very seriously, and that’s why we have put in place a number of features, including the blurring of faces and license plates, to ensure that Street View respects local laws and cultures in each country in which it is launched. We believe that launching Street View in Greece will offer enormous benefits to both Greek users and the people elsewhere who are interested in taking a virtual tour of some of its many tourist attractions.
Και το www.kapou.gr από τη Θεσσαλονίκη βρίσκεται εκτός λειτουργίας. Μήπως έχουν λάβει και αυτοί κάποιο αίτημα από την Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα;
